General Description The Pharmacy Informaticist is responsible for pharmacy and 340B related data management, analyses, dashboards, and reporting from several systems as well as data communication with TPAs and others.
The Pharmacy Informaticist participates with the rest of the Informatics team on data governance and data integrity. Responsibilities Specific Responsibilities of the Job: Develops, publishes, and maintains informative and interactive data visualizations, reports, and dashboards using tools such as PowerBI or Tableau.
Ensures accurate and on-time production and maintenance of scheduled and ad hoc reports and dashboards.
Develops and maintains pharmacy, 340B, and other prescription related reports and dashboards from multiple data sources including but not limited to EHR, financial, inventory, and pharmacy information systems.
Collaborates with business, clinical, programmatic, and research leadership to support strategic goals, objectives, FQHC, sponsor, and other analysis & reporting requirements.
Serves as system expert and administrator for Pharmacy Information System, inventory systems, and other pharmacy or 340B specific tools and technologies.
Implements, manages, and maintains the necessary connections, integrations, and communications.
Ensures the accuracy of pharmacy and 340B data. Ensures accurate and on-time secure file transfers with third party administrators (TPAs).
Troubleshoots data transfer problems. Analyzes and sets appropriate inventory control PAR levels. Provides backup and data analytic support for the 340B team and for informatics, pharmacy, and organizational leadership as assigned.
Participates as assigned in certification/recertification, data reporting, audits, contract pharmacy relationships, etc. Participates as assigned in data governance and data integrity activities.
Supports the establishment, maintenance, and use of standard data definitions, consistent report design, task prioritization, etc. Creates and maintains documentation of all work, queries, data definitions, report schedules, etc. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel. Advanced data analysis and visualization skills (e.g., SQL, Power BI/Tableau, Python, SAS, R) required. Experience and expertise using EHR, pharmacy information system, and TPA data sources required.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Education and Experience: Master’s degree or higher required.
Pharmacy, business, informatics, data science, statistics, and actuarial science are particularly relevant.
Pharmacist or Certified Pharmacy Tech with additional informatics training preferred. At least 5 years of full time, paid work experience in a pharmacy setting required. Apexus 340B ACE certification or other 340B training required.
