Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Pharmacy to lead our pharmacy department in Elko, NV. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospital pharmacy operations and leadership, with a commitment to delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care. The Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the pharmacy services, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and managing a team of pharmacy professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and operational management of the pharmacy department, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of pharmaceutical services.
- Oversee all pharmacy operations, including medication management, compounding, dispensing, and clinical pharmacy services.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures.
- Manage and mentor a team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols to improve efficiency, safety, and patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy and ensure high-quality patient care.
- Oversee the procurement, storage, and distribution of medications, ensuring proper inventory management and cost control.
- Participate in the development and monitoring of departmental budgets, including staffing, equipment, and supplies.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and participate in hospital-wide committees and projects.
- Ensure the proper operation and maintenance of pharmacy equipment and technology.
- Stay current with advancements in pharmacy practice and healthcare regulations, and ensure the continuous professional development of pharmacy staff.
Must-Haves:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy.
- Experience: At least three years of acute care/hospital leadership experience.
- Licensure: Active Nevada Pharmacist license within three months of hire.
