Job Summary
Leads, manages, and supports pharmacy and Medical Center personnel to achieve comprehensive, contemporary, credible, and reliable pharmaceutical services across the organization’s continuum of care. Oversees the effective integration of operational, fiscal, and clinical resources throughout all areas of the Pharmacy to ensure that the Department achieves the highest level of safe, efficacious, and cost-effective care for patients while meeting the organization’s mission, vision, and strategic initiatives. Leads the assessment, development and implementation of automation and informatics technologies to advance the organization’s delivery of pharmaceutical care

Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy degree program (specialty education in Business, Health Care Administration or Public Health preferred) PharmD or master’s degree required. Minimum of five (2) years of clinical pharmacy experience required with a minimum of two (1) year of management/supervisory experience.
- An active Ohio license as a pharmacist by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy required.
- Broad knowledge in professional area and in healthcare management. Knowledge of regulatory, legislative and Joint Commission standards related to pharmacy.
Job Responsibilities, including, but not limited to:.
- Effectively plans the goals, objectives, and workflow of the department to achieve optimal performance as well as attainment of Steward pharmacy initiatives. Represents the department at appropriate meetings and/or committees and actively participates in the facility's PI program and leads pharmacy’s PI program.
- Evaluates and revises departmental policies and procedures based on local, regional, and national best practices.
- Meets or exceeds all regulatory requirements of the department. Successfully meets department productivity goals by improving efficiencies and managing staff according to workload.
- Works diligently to recruit and retain competent staff in the department and effectively manages staff disciplinary actions. Assures completion and compliance with orientation and continuing education requirements of all employees of the department.
- Regularly assesses the capital and/or equipment needs of the department and coordinates requests with Vice President.
- Verifies timely and accurate billing functions; and corrects charge errors immediately. Appropriately implements solutions based on accurate and timely statistical and financial data. Manages departmental inventory, ordering, and utilization as appropriate.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
