The Pharmacy Director plays a crucial role in overseeing and directing the pharmacy operations within the organization. They are responsible for ensuring compliance with all pharmacy regulations, providing strategic leadership, and managing the pharmacy budget. The Pharmacy Director also collaborates with various departments to enhance patient care and customer satisfaction through optimal pharmaceutical services.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement pharmacy policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations
- Oversee medication dispensing and distribution processes
- Manage the pharmacy budget and expenditures
- Provide strategic direction for pharmacy services
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to improve patient outcomes
- Lead and mentor pharmacy staff
- Implement quality improvement initiatives
- Participate in formulary management and medication safety
- Evaluate and select pharmacy technology and automation systems
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff
- Monitor and analyze pharmacy performance metrics
- Develop and maintain relationships with pharmaceutical wholesalers
- Participate in the development of organizational pharmacy strategic plans
- Conduct regular assessments and audits of pharmacy operations

Shift / Weekend Rotation: M-F, exempt position, weekends off
Department Volumes: 60-80k doses/month

Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
- Active and unrestricted pharmacy license
- Minimum of 5 years of pharmacy management experience
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations and accreditation standards
- Demonstrated experience in budget management
- Proven track record of strategic planning and implementation
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Proficiency in pharmacy technology and automation systems
- Experience with quality improvement initiatives in a pharmacy setting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of formulary management and medication safety best practices
- Effective relationship-building and networking skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
- Commitment to maintaining professional development and continuing education
