What You'll Do As An Intake Coordinator
- Collect and process patient and billing information for new admissions and re-admits.
- Enter patient demographic and payer data timely and accurately, following the Company’s policies and procedures.
- Verify accuracy of patient and billing information received by coordinating with client facilities, physicians, and hospitals.
- Manage the receipt, resolution, and association of written/faxed admission records in a computer-based document management system.
- Verify and set up accounts for Medicare, Medicaid and Medicaid-pending, third-party insurance, and private pay.
- Verify admission data and ensure all necessary information is provided.
- Develop and maintain working knowledge of pharmacy products and services and all applicable insurance guidelines with respect to eligibility for coverage and reimbursement.
- Comply with all applicable Company policies and procedures.
- Understand and comply with billing regulations/policies including but not limited to Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party insurance programs.
- Assist with implementation of quality improvement program to meet Company and accreditation standards.
- Additional duties as assigned.
What We Need
- Current unencumbered license in the state of practice: Certified Pharmacy Technician (certification not required for Illinois Pharmacy Technicians licensed before 2008).
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and prioritization skills, including the ability to read, write and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
- Minimum of 1 year pharmacy- or medical-insurance office experience required.
- Previous LTC or order-entry pharmacy experience preferred.
- General knowledge of government, regulatory and company billing and compliance regulations/policies for Medicare, Medicaid preferred.
- Knowledgeable in all major insurance carrier reimbursement guidelines and eligibility for coverage by third-party payers.
- Excellent computer skills, including familiarity with basic Microsoft Office; must demonstrate competence with Forum’s document management, pharmacy information software, and client electronic health records after appropriate training.
- Ability to type with minimal errors; strong data entry and 10-key skills preferred.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good organizational ability.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, production environment.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
