The Director of Pharmacy is responsible for the overall management and operation of the pharmacy department. This position is responsible for ensuring that the pharmacy is operating in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, and that all patients receive the highest quality of pharmaceutical care.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the pharmacy department, including operations, personnel, and budget
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for the pharmacy department
- Ensure that the pharmacy is operating in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Oversee the selection, procurement, and distribution of medications
- Manage the pharmacy staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling
- Develop and implement continuing education programs for pharmacy staff
- Monitor and evaluate the pharmacy's performance and identify areas for improvement
- Work with other departments to ensure that patients receive the highest quality of care
- Represent the pharmacy department to external stakeholders, such as regulatory agencies and insurance companies
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited college or university
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations
- Experience with budgeting and financial management
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
