Our client, an innovative independently-owned long-term care pharmacy, is seeking a Pharmacy Operations Manager to add to their team.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations and direct pharmacy staff on scheduling, purchasing, clinical matters and other tasks
- Work with pharmacy management to ensure implementation of quality and cost containment strategies
- Provide clinical and technical support as needed
- Respond to customers and pharmacy staff, interpreting needs and offering information and advice
- Maintain patient database to include appropriate current and past medical history, appropriate clinical and laboratory data, and concurrent medication
- Document all communication with physicians, nurses, other members of the team and patients and their family members in the pharmacy system
- Obtain and maintain all required documentation in accordance with federal and state regulatory agencies and corporate compliance policy
- Implement policies and procedures for the safe procurement, storage, distribution and use of drugs and biologicals, as well as disposal of drugs
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least two years of operational leadership experience in a long term care pharmacy setting.
- BS in Pharmacy or a Pharm D Degree
- Licensed to practice as a Pharmacist in the State of Illinois (active and in good standing)
- Stable work history, exceptional communication skills and customer service focus a must.
- Experience providing leadership for a medium to large team of pharmacists desired.
